!	WEIR COTTAGE - Bed and Breakfast in the heart of the Vale of Pewsey

Come and stay in our charming cottage at Patney Weir, half-way between the villages of Patney and Chirton. Neville and Caroline Burrell look forward to welcoming you to our traditional but very comfortable cottage surrounded by attactive farmland.

Breakfast is served in our country kitchen, warmed in winter by the oil-fired range and cool in the summer with the french doors open. Breakfast is available between 7.30 and 9.30.

We do not generally serve dinner, but there are very good pubs nearby with excellent food. We would make particular mention of The Wiltshire Yeoman at the head of the village - highly recommended!

Chirton and Patney are in the heart of the Vale of Pewsey, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty between Salisbury Plain to the south and the Marlborough Downs to the north. Devizes and Pewsey are both about 6 miles away, and Marlborough about 12 miles.

Weir Cottage would make an ideal base for visiting the ancient monuments at Stonehenge, Avebury and West Kennett, all testament to the fact that this is the oldest-inhabited part of England.

Bath, Cheltenham, Salisbury and Winchester are all within an hour's drive, and London can be reached in 90 minutes....

Tariff and Conditions

Double or twin room: £60 (ie £30 per person per night)

Single occupancy: £40 per night

(Rates correct at March 2008 and include full english or continental breakfast)

Please note we have no facilities for coping with young children (high chairs, cots etc) Well behaved children over 7 are welcome.(full rates apply). Small, well behaved dogs welcome - but must be happy to spend night in kitchen).

From South or West:

From the A342 Devizes to Andover road, turn into the village of Chirton when you reach the Wiltshire Yeoman pub. Carry on right through the village until you think you have left it behind. At a sharp bend left you will see a pair of cottages on the right, beside a lane going up to the right. We are the second of these. Turn up the lane and park on gravel parking area immediately on the left.

From Pewsey:

Leave Pewsey by the Wilcot Road - past School and Leisure Centre. After traffic lights on railway bridge fork left to Woodborough. Straight through Woodborough, then left and right to Beechingstoke. Go straight through Beechingstoke.1/2 mile later turn left to Patney. Turn left in Patney towards Chirton. We are the first house on the left after the sign that tells you you are entering Chirton. Turn left up lane and park on gravel immediately on left.

From Marlborough:

Head west on A4 and turn left to Lockeridge after 3 miles. Straight on for 7 miles (through Lockeridge, Alton Barnes, Honeystreet and Woodborough) then turn right and go straight through Beechingstoke.1/2 mile later turn left to Patney. Turn left in Patney towards Chirton. We are the first house on the left after the sign that tells you you are entering Chirton. Turn left up lane and park on gravel immediately on left.

From M4 (J14) from London direction:

Through Hungerford to Burbage and then Pewsey. Right then left in Pewsey, up the Wilcot Road - past School and Leisure Centre. After traffic lights on railway bridge fork left to Woodborough.
